Health and Safety
Our duty of care to all the members of Prince Rupert Boarding Lodge means certain regulations have to be upheld:
- Un-authorised consumption or possession of alcoholic drink, both on and off the premises and the possession or use of cigarettes (tobacco) or any other controlled substance is absolutely forbidden.
- Prince Rupert Boarding Lodge is a mixed Boarding House. However, visits to bedrooms and corridors of the opposite sex are strictly forbidden.
- The use of aerosol spray cans is not permitted because of the possible danger of allergic reactions to other boarders, and the potential danger through misuse.
- All boarders are required to register every morning before leaving for breakfast every evening on return from school (or after school activities).
- Visits to friends’ homes are only permitted but only when a letter from both the boarder’s parents and that of the hosts parents give written permission with details of arrangements made. Transport authorities and bus escorts must be approached to ensure the proposed arrangements are possible and acceptable.
Consequences
By following the above guidelines your child can enjoy all the opportunities of boarding in Prince Rupert Boarding Lodge.
The consequences of a failure to behave reasonably will be a fixed period of exclusion from boarding. In such cases, parents will have the responsibility of bringing their son or daughter to school on a daily basis.
Where behaviour is persistently unreasonable, or jeopardises the safety of others (see items 1 and 2 above), the individual may be permanently excluded from the Boarding Lodge.
