Money Matters
Fees
Entitled parents pay no tuition or boarding fees, but must pay the Home Savings Charges, currently £2.43 per day. This is a charge that takes account of savings parents will make on their domestic food bill.
These charges are payable per term in advance and will be raised using a HSC Bill, any credits/debits from the previous term will be shown. This will be forwarded to entitled parents, by the Home Savings Clerk, at the end of the preceding term.
A copy of the HSC Bill should be returned to the Home Savings Clerk with a UK cheque, in sterling, made payable to MOD ACCOUNTING OFFICER or as Euro cheque, made payable to LAO (G). Payment by direct banking is also available on contacting the HSC Clerk on 05751 970331
Pocket Money
Our own banking system is designed to keep boarders money safe and to enable greater personal control. Simply, parents can send money to the House parents or with their child and we keep a card up to date with deposits and withdrawals alongside the cash in our office safe. Transactions may be made by children in the evening to facilitate spending cash to pay for trips/excursions that take place every week.
Amenities
Boarding does not charge anything extra for amenities. The furniture, beds, fixtures and fittings are all supplied free of charge and the school budget supports other extras such as:
- A wide range of equipment for both indoor and outdoor games, from table-tennis and pool, to football, basketball, and netball are available.
- A library of videos and DVD's, plus some consoles and games for those who want spend a ‘quiet hour indoors’, all of which are bought with amenities money.
- A well used fitness suite is available to all, plus many colour TV Combi’s that are placed in most Dorm’s.
- Large screen TV and a computer room with 4 PC’s, printers all for use by the boarders.
This does mean that any wilful damage has to be paid for by the person causing it and in these exceptional circumstances you will be notified.
